Dear Ms. Smith:
Thank you for the generous gift of $30,000 that will assist the Marine Mammal Standing Center (MMSC) in our Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation Assistance Program for 2012.
We wish to thank the Paws and Claws Society for assisting MMSC in supporting our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing marine mammals and sea turtles. Our organization, formed in 1978, has now responded to over 4,076 strandings of these aquatic animals, and has a success rate of over 89% for seals that come through our doors. We have three full-time and one part-time field stranding technicians and over 150 volunteers that cover the entire state of NJ, which includes 1,800 miles of coastal and inter-coastal waterways where strandings occur.
Your generosity will assist MMSC in partially funding the costs for medicine, laboratory testing, veterinary care, equipment, supplies, staff salaries, travel for rescue and release of the animals, training stranding staff, and public education programming.
Your funding is appreciated and valued, and we hope that we can count on your continued support. Should you require additional information and/or documentation, please do not hesitate to contact me.
On belalf of the entire MMSC staff and board members I would like to thank you for your support. Your encouragement and positive comments are the fuel that keeps us moving forward to make MMSC a sustainable and effective organizatioan.
Sincerely yours,
Sheila M. Dean
