The 2020 New Jersey Animal Intake and Disposition Summary shows that an average of 12 cats and dogs were euthanized per day in 2020 in our state. The total number of animals impounded was 55,727. Of that number, 37,099 were redeemed or adopted and 4,372 were euthanized.
