California is First US State to Ban Puppy Mills From Selling to Pet Stores
CALIFORNIA IS THE FIRST STATE TO BAN PUPPY MILLS FROM SELLING TO PET STORES. The law, signed by Governor Jerry Brown, will take effect January 1, 2019. It covers puppy mills as well as cat and rabbit mills. Pet shops in California will have to work with animal shelters and rescues, not cruel mills, if they want to help their customers adopt dogs, cats, and rabbits.
