Dear Jean,
I’m not sure where to begin thanking you. I’ve so greatly benefited from the Cats on the Border program you’ve sponsored. Because of this program, to my knowledge, the property has been kitten free since 2018. I love kittens, but knowing the number of kittens that could have been born in the 6 yr period, I’m grateful there has been zero. It’s taken diligence on my part because stray/drop off cats still seem to materialize, but without this program, it would have been impossible to accomplish..
I want to start by thanking you for the cat food. To be honest, when Debbie Race first mentioned the possibility of getting a donation of cat food, I was thinking it would be dry cat food. I was wonderfully surprised when the boxes of wet cat food were given to me. It was above and beyond my expectations.
I also want to thank you for the spay/neuter program you’ve sponsored over the years. I have greatly benefited from this program. I’m not sure I have had the greatest number of cats go through the program, but I’m pretty sure I’ve been someone that’s gotten use of the program over the longest number of years. At the moment, I can’t find the book where I documented all the cats that went through the program, but as best as I can determine, my first cats to go through the program was back in February 2018. At that time I was thinking that only a few of my cats would to be spayed/neutered. But once I got started, I was motivated to get as many done as I could catch. I never had a one time trapping session. The majority of my cats were fillins. Debbie or Sally would either call me and let me know they were short their quota for an appointment or I would contact them and let them know that I had a cat and if there was a day when they were unable to fill their quota for a particular appointment I could help them out. It worked well for all of us I had my own box trap and I could transport the cat to them. Since, at that time we all went to the same church, church became a very convenient exchange point. I’ve had several cats actually attend the church service. The kids at the church really enjoyed that.
So, again, thank you. I appreciate you and all that you’ve done.
Sincerely,
Donna
