Letter January 2012: Rocky

First let me start this letter by saying thank you so much for what you have done for us. Your kindness and generosity has helped my fiancé and I so much that I can’t even find the right words to express how thankful we both are to you. We are the proud parents of a 9 month old Dachshund/Shih-Tzu/ Chihuahua puppy. As an animal lover you must know how puppies will find and eat just about everything, well our little Rocky found himself a penny on a walk and decided it looked good enough to eat. This caused major health issues for him, he started by not eating and drinking then sleeping almost all day long, we took him to Dr. Hirsch and Dr. Grant at Parkway vet and were told that he ate a penny and was essentially getting poisoned by the zinc in it. They quickly performed surgery to remove the penny and gave him a blood transfusion to try and help him but he was still very critical and had to be taken to the 24 hour animal hospital in Linwood NJ. My fiancé and I are both very hardworking people and usually just have enough money to cover our bills with a small amount left over for spending money.

As much as we love Rocky and would be devastated if we lost him we knew that we had to think rationally and realize how much money we had available to us to spend to get him back to the fun carefree puppy we know and love. When Dr. Hirsch told us that you donated money to help us out we were both in tears we were so happy and grateful. You helped to give our puppy a second chance at life and for that we are both eternally grateful. I wish that there was something we could do besides a letter to show you how much you have done for us. You allowed us to give Rocky the care he needed and get him back to his normal self, he came home to us on Christmas Eve and it was the best gift we have ever gotten. He had his first check up yesterday and is almost back to normal in regards to his blood count and getting the zinc out of his system. We are so happy to have him home and you were such a huge part of that, what you do for people and their animals is amazing and we again just wanted to say thank you with all our hearts! Your help allowed Rocky to come home to us and I will never forget that!

Thank you
