Dear Ms. Smith:
We are very grateful to the Paws and Claws Society and the Norman E. and Gwyneth L. Staats Foundation for awarding us the wonderfully generous recent grant of $5,000. The grant will be used for the funding of the veteriunarian care which is so necessary to our unique cat population. Understandably our cats’ medical expenses are the largest item in our budget. Thanks to the generosity of this grant we will be able to maintain the high level of care needed by our rescues. As you know cats who are found to be positive for Feline Leukemia are doomed to being put to death or abandoned. Thanks to our supporters we are now able to fund frequent at-home visits from a local veterinatian hospital. Your support of this program has permitted us to provide a longer and healthier life to our wonderful feline family.
Perhaps the best way to describe how our success is measured is the story of one especially needy kitty. Lea was even more at-risk than most of our intakes. She was born with Cerabellar Hypoplasia, a neurological condition that greatly inhibits normal mobility. That condition coupled with her Feline Leukemia made her chances of being cared for slim to none until she found her way to Aslan’s Sanctuary. Here she is given the best of care and lots of love. Please take joy in knowing that you have helped this little girl and hundreds of others have a happy and safe home for life.
