A holiday wish for the strays
From out my window I can see the garden turning white,
May someone help the feral cats out there on such a night!
May someone see them searching for bits upon the frozen grass,
And put a little food that they’ll find whenever they do pass.
Some people say ‘There’s nothing wrong, they run around all right,’
But it takes a while to starve — it doesn’t happen overnight.
Their silent forms slip past the door till nothing’s left to see,
So who knows what they’re suffering or how near death may be?
Some people say they’re happy living rough — that isn’t true.
They have no choice — I ought to know, for I was feral, too.
But I was lucky, Animalkind’s angels caught me in a trap,
And a patient lady loved me and let me sit upon her lap.
So things worked out all right for me, I’m someone’s lucky pet,
But memories of the past are there and stir within me yet.
I pray before I fall asleep, beside the fire bright,
May more people help the feral cats on every freezing night.

Dear Friend of Animalkind and the forgotten felines,
Best wishes to you, your family, and the lucky furries that share your home at this holiday season, a season to rejoice in our blessings.
At Animalkind, we are blessed with supporters like you – who make it possible for us to continue our lifesaving work for the homeless felines.
We send our heartfelt thanks to you!
We also kindly ask you to open your heart to those who still need our help: the abandoned and abused, the injured and sickly, the homeless cats and kittens who will suffer winter’s hardship unless we can give them the safe haven and second chance they so desperately need.
Please help us continue our lifesaving work to help those with no voice of their own. Every gift will help provide rescue and care for a lonely, hungry stray.
Have a blessed holiday and a wonderful new year.
