Mama Cat Keeps Her Babies Safe And Is A Foster Mom To Others Before Going To Her New Home

The rescuer who found Phoenix says, “This mother cat and her litter of four newborns were put in a cardboard box and abandoned behind a local store. When I found her, she was standing in the box, guarding her babies. I took the family home.

After a couple of days, someone brought an orphaned newborn to me and I asked this mama to adopt her, which she did immediately. She has also nursed a couple of other kittens who found their way to us through rescue. Phoenix is probably the most even tempered cat I have come in  contact with through rescue. She has never jumped onto a piece of furniture. If I put her on the foot of the bed, she jumps off and sleeps on the floor. She gets along well with other cats. She is a young cat, probably not much more than a year old. She sometimes plays, but most of the time, is just happy sitting near anyone who will talk to her. She watched all of her babies find a home, one by one, and now it’s her turn.”

Phoenix has been adopted!
